Hello world!

Hello world! I guess this is how most blogs start out, huh?

First I want to welcome you to the site.  I’m so glad you’ve stopped by and taken the time to hear a little bit about how we got started.  It’s been a winding road to get here and who knows when it will ever straighten out!

About four years ago, I began a little online resale business in the living room of our very full house.  That little side venture turned into our full time venture about a year ago when my husband left his day job to work with me at home.  Our passion for vintage finds continued to grow and refine.

Learning to fly...

Because that wasn’t exciting enough I guess, I took up painting during that time as well.  Painting awakened in my a seed of courage to pursue my heart’s desire of peace and purpose.  With every stroke of the brush I freed myself from lifelong anxieties and found joy and a thirst for simple, care-free living.

For what seems like the first time ever my husband and I were taking real steps into a life of true faith and belief.  It was exhilarating! Every small taste of these blessings left me craving more.  It feels really good knowing you’re exactly where you are supposed to be no matter how wonderful or terrible the circumstances. Peace in purpose is impervious!

Taking flight...

So when I felt called to make art and sell it, I said okay.  And God opened doors.  Lots of them.  When we felt called to build a booth and start doing markets and show, we said “okay.”  And God provided.  Not knowing much more than that, we started building a booth.  When we finally heard exactly what this booth was for, we said “yes!”  We started making plans. And when God said Bohemian Relics was meant for this venture, we said “wow.”  Some of these details (like the name Bohemian Relics) were set in stone more than a year before.  But some we had to wait on until we were obedient with something else first. It was hard taking a step without know where we were going.  But God was faithful and he delivered.

Now here we are, seeing the pieces come together, and getting to experience life in a fantastic, incredible, amazing way!  We’re taking our vintage goods, our art, and our hand made wares on the road with our little traveling pop-up shop, Bohemian Relics.

I really love that name as it represents all the things we are passionate about – artistic free spirits and nonconforming old souls…  fragments of a time gone by and souvenirs of distant memories.  I can’t wait to share them with you and the world.
